Description

There are many challenges when encouraging the adoption of environmentally-friendly landscapes, including the use of native plants. This course reviews the results of a recent study in several (Central and North) Florida communities on the perceptions and preferences of homeowner association (HOA) board members and homeowners for environmentally healthy landscapes and plants, including Florida-Friendly yards. The instructor will present the information gained in focus group meetings, including preferred and not-preferred characteristics of plants, as well as strategies to encourage adoption and use of healthy landscapes.
