Description

This course focuses on how landscape professionals can encourage and empower residential clients to convert lawns and traditional landscapes with successful native plantings. The Villages chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society (FNPS) has more than 10 significant examples of converted residential landscapes. These illustrate the success of homeowner education and building the value chain of services to work through the process. A focused educational workshop is a critical element in initiation and moving projects along. By providing the right resources, the landscape architect can help motivate a successful landscape use of native plants versus a generic landscape install. This course will provide the specific elements needed for homeowner education and present case studies of successful conversions.
